Started this on the 20th of July, 2013, and this is the result after around 150 hours of work. I finished it yesterday (whew)
-The whole thing is made out of coloured paper--except for the plastic over the eye.
-Each of Smaug's scales was cut individually and took about 3 days to finish.
-The 800 or so coins/jewels were also cut individually (each had a diameter of about 2-5mm), and that task took me about 4 hours to complete.
-Bilbo himself took all of 2 days.
